Q&A with Ananya, Senior Recruitment Business Partner at Palo Alto Networks

We sat down with Ananya, Senior Recruitment Business Partner at Palo Alto Networks, to get her insights on career growth, company culture, and making an impact in cybersecurity. Here's what she had to say:

Q: Tell us about your role at Palo Alto Networks.

A: As a Senior Recruiter focusing on Go-To-Market roles in EMEA, I source and hire top sales and presales talent to drive business growth. I partner with hiring managers, engage with candidates, and manage the recruitment process from start to finish. Cybersecurity is crucial today, and PANW protects customers from threats. Bringing on people who want to make an impact is key to our success.

Q: Why is PANW the best place to learn and grow the most in your career?

A: Throughout my time here, I’ve been able to grow alongside fantastic people, working on a meaningful mission - cybersecurity has never been more important. Palo Alto Networks holds itself to the highest standards, drives constant innovation while fostering a culture of respect and belonging. We're encouraged to push ourselves, while being supported by a company that truly values internal growth. There’s no room to stand still, and there's always new opportunities to raise your hand and say "I want to learn that!"

Q: How has Palo Alto Networks supported you in your own personal growth or career journey?

A: I started at Palo Alto Networks in my first job out of university, and over the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of being part of a company that has seen phenomenal growth while never compromising on taking care of its people. From day one, I'm grateful to have been surrounded by supportive managers, inspiring colleagues, and a culture that encourages continuous learning and growth. The company has given me the space to grow, take on new challenges, and evolve as a recruiter - all while working in an industry that truly makes an impact.

Q: How does Palo Alto Networks’ mission align with the impact you hope to make?

A: Palo Alto Networks has always been committed to excellence for its people, products, and customers. Cybersecurity is a constantly changing industry - evolution and innovation is central to what we do, and this is something that I really resonate with. We don’t just fill roles, we build world-class teams that make a real impact. Our customers rely on us to protect them and provide the best solutions, and we ensure that by hiring and retaining people who are driven, passionate, and want to win (as a team)!

Q: What is one piece of advice you wish you could’ve given yourself before starting your career at PANW?

A: One piece of advice I’d give my fresh-out-of-uni, rookie self starting at Palo Alto Networks: remember to enjoy the process! The early stages of learning (hello imposter syndrome, my old friend) are just as important as the milestones. I’m incredibly lucky to have incredible leaders who have always reminded me to stay present, that it’s okay to ask questions, and to celebrate achieving a goal before moving onto the next. Every step, even the tough ones, has shaped me into the recruiter I am today— so I’d tell my past self to enjoy the journey!

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add about your experience at Palo Alto Networks?

A: Palo Alto Networks has not only shaped my career but also helped me grow personally - it’s been an incredible ride so far, and I can't wait to see where we go!
